I run a small online resale business, and one of our former contractors has been accused of using stolen customer accounts. Federal agents contacted me because some of the activity came through servers rented under my company's name, although several people had access to them. A server rented under the company's name may draw attention to the owner even when several people had access. Don't contact the former contractor to compare stories or try to clean up the accounts yourself. Keep the devices, logs, and access records in their current state until your lawyer has reviewed them.
