Facebook App Review

Hi
I always encounter the same issue with the Facebook Review Team for my permissions. They say they the app isn't loading properly and errors appeared while testing your app. When they try to login, the OneAll popup appears with the information"About us", "About this Application" and "Get in touch". When we are testing my website everything seems to work with the login and permission popup but somehow Facebook doesn't get that far..does anybody know what I am doing wrong? (I followed the steps in the "Setup Facebook" in my OneAll account..)
Thank you very much
Cheers

  • Hi,
Which permissions are you requesting that require the Review Team to test your site?
It would be useful if the Review Team gave details on what errors they get.
If it is related to the popup, there is a setting to avoid popups.
What is the URL of your test site?

  • Hi Fred,
    I chose the following permissions in OneAll (Social Networks Facebook): email, public_profile, user_about_me, user_birthday, user_education_history, user_events, user_likes, user_location, user_work_history
For the Facebook App Review I asked for the following permissions (they should match with those above): user_education_history, user_location, user_work_history, user_likes, user_events, user_birthday, user_about_me

The app verification notes were: Your app isn't loading properly and errors appeared while testing your app.
The review team gave me more infos about my denial: I've had a chance to look over the analyst's notes and your submission. I noticed that the provided link to your site doesn't load the content shown in your video, as shown in the screenshot attached. This was likely the error seen by the analyst. However, based on your video, please note that permissions used solely on the backend will not be approved, as every permissions must provide a clear and direct benefit to the user based on the information provided after logging in with Facebook.

and the pop-up they see: https://scontent-vie1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t39.2191-6/13409340_259723597735363_1590437717_n.png
  • https://barty.io
that's the website by the way. The website is in german but you can get to the login when you enter a date on the landing page and select a bartender. Then you will be given the two options Instagram or Facebook to login.
  • The problem is for the Facebook App review I have to enter the site's URL : http://mydomain.api.oneall.com/ and not directly my domain. I think Facebook only opens this URL and never sees my actual webpage.

    Hi Fortunat,
You're right, this is the reason for the rejection.

Could you try to put your web site URL (https://barty.io) in the Facebook App setting web site URL?
    (keep the App Domain empty).
That should satisfy the Review Team, and Social Login could work (because the callback are set in the Products / Facebook login).
Worse case, may be able to change it back later :-)

    Regards.
  • Hi,
I already tried this but then the Social Login does not work anymore. When I try to log in with Facebook I get the message: Can't Load URL: The domain of this URL isn't included in the app's domains. To be able to load this URL, add all domains and subdomains of your app to the App Domains field in your app settings.
  • Hi,
What do you have set in the Valid OAuth redirect URIs field, in the Products / Facebook Login, on developers.facebook.com?
  • nothing. both Yes Client OAuth Login Yes Web OAuth Login but in the Valid OAuth redirect URIs field I haven't put anything
  • Hi,
    Odd.
It works with just the https://mydomain.api.oneall.com/ in the Valid OAuth redirect URIs, under Facebook Login product.
Maybe you can add your application domain (barty.io) in Settings / App domain ? (this way, the web site URL is still https://barty.io, which would pass the Review process).
