I have been using this plugin for a while now and all is working fine, except that I noticed that if a user signs in with Twitter (having Twitter profile photo A) when logging in - the profile photo shows up fine on my website, but then few days later the same user logs in again (having changed his Twitter profile photo to photo
his profile photo on my website shows up invalid with error:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
because the plugin is looking for the previous photo used by the user.
Is it possible to implement a check on the current social media profile photo used and update it accordingly?
thank you very much
Answers
Yes, that should be the case.
What is your web site built with? (Wordpress, ...)
And if possible, is there a public URL we can access.
Regards
Yes it's a wordpress site: http://spillwords.com/
And if you'd like to see the blank Twitter photo in the comments section, you can check this post:
http://spillwords.com/the-developing-i/
And in comparison this is a post with Twitter profile pic that's fine:
http://spillwords.com/what-do-you-want-to-leave-behind-for-posterity/
thank you
Are you using Buddypress?
Normally, this is the case (pictures get updated).
The URL (spillwords) was not available for us to have a look (unauthorized).
Regards
I apologize for that, we had some technical issues yesterday morning, but it's all accessible now, if you wouldn't mind checking.
thank you
No problem.
Tested the scenario you described (although not waited a few days in between logins), and the picture profile did get updated in profile and in comments after changing it in a Twitter profile.
Also the example blank picture is not blank on the link developing-I.
In the error situation, how did you notice the site was looking for the previous picture? Could you check again.
Regards.
thank you very much for testing. I have checked the Developing I post again (through Torch browser and Safari) and the Criptic Mysfic photo in the comments is still blank. I'm attaching 2 screen shots urls, from both browsers.

http://spillwords.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Phone-Shot-Developing-I-error.png
As to the error, I inspected element and noticed that I'm getting the error on the blank photo:
https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/705493273092067329/3YBsBGFg_bigger.jpg
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
and when you check the url for the photo that's asked for it is in fact blank. So I checked what the url of the user's Twitter Profile photo (current one on Twitter) is and that's it:
https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/752190982242897920/RHDNXoDF.jpg
and if you type the url his Twitter pic shows up, so I'm assuming it's looking for the old twitter photo, as it's twitter url.
Hope this helps,
thank you for your help
I also temporarily approved your comment in the post:
http://spillwords.com/itoo/
maybe you can try to change your Twitter pic now and make another comment to see if your pic pops up
thank you
