Mobile Authentication and Token for Consumption in WebAPI

I am trying to find your documentation that explains how this works. Is this supported? What we would like is to enable Social authentication in our mobile app. The mobile app will communicate directly with your service and do the authentication. It will receive a token that it can use to communicate with our Web API to get/push data. Our Web API should be able to communicate with your service to guarantee that the token is valid. Once validated it should be able to (can) gather information about the authenticated user (i.e. username, profile image, etc.). Is there a documentation describing this flow?
