Looking for Custom Stone Work

I have a weirdly shaped kitchen island and standard countertops will not fit. I need someone who does custom solutions and has experience with unusual projects. I live in Florida and want to support local businesses that do quality work. Does anyone know a company with specialization in premium countertops, custom solutions, fast work, Florida, how to find them, what to ask, how fast is fast? My contractor said custom takes forever but I need it sooner.

Had a similar issue - our island had this awkward angled edge and a curve, and every big supplier said “standard only.” What helped was looking for smaller Florida fabricators who do in-house cutting. I found one via Edstone inc and they actually took measurements on-site and suggested a workaround I hadn’t thought of. Ask about templating time, slab availability, and if fabrication is done locally. In my case “fast” was about 10–12 days total, not months like my contractor warned.
