Every time my automatic vehicle moves from second to third gear, the whole cabin shakes violently. It doesn't matter if I accelerate gently or press the pedal hard, the transition is never smooth anymore. It feels like the car is slamming into the next gear instead of transitioning seamlessly like it used to. Could this be a computer software glitch, or is it a mechanical failure?

That harsh engagement often indicates a faulty solenoid valve or a severely degraded fluid that can no longer cushion the shift changes. Take a look at the repair procedures for when a Car jerks when shifting at transmission repair to find out what is causing that rough transition. A malfunctioning sensor can easily disrupt the precise timing required for smooth gear changes.
I've experienced that rough shifting before, George, and it turned out to be a clogged internal filter restricting the fluid flow. Once the specialized team replaced the old fluid and cleared the system, the hydraulic pressure normalized, and the car started shifting smoothly again. It's best to get it diagnosed before the constant slamming damages your engine mounts.
