Been seeing the signs

A friend of mine kept saying he was just stressed from work, but the mood swings and burnout got harder to ignore. It made me want to learn what kind of help people usually look for first. Can you recommend something related to mental health, therapy, counseling, psychiatry, or psychology in US?
