I've been putting fantasy stories on my website, and the pages feel a bit bare with nothing but text. Drawing isn't really my thing, so I've been thinking about using AI to make illustrations for characters, locations, creatures, and bigger scenes from the stories. The only thing I'm worried about is consistency, because I'd rather not have the same hero look totally different every time he appears. What image generator would be best for that?

Readers notice continuity mistakes immediately, especially when the same character keeps coming back. A different hairstyle or armor in every illustration can make the whole series look disconnected. So I'd create one reference image for each main character first and keep their description fixed for future scenes. The same approach works for important locations too, so the castle or city doesn't suddenly become a completely different place in the next story.
A story page doesn't need to turn into a picture book either. One image near the beginning and another around a big scene can break up the text without pulling attention away from the story itself. Once you've picked the scenes that really deserve artwork, it makes sense to test them in one generator and see how well it keeps the same look from image to image. For that, there's Qwen Image Generator here: https://yesai.su/en/qwenimages . Start with two or three scenes from the same story and keep the character descriptions unchanged. Save the versions that match each other best and use them as references for the next illustrations.
